As Mr Wibbler has gone to the trouble of building this nifty little forum, I thought we should kick off a discussion. I don't know if anyone will find us here (we may have to wait a while, as Ford's profile ain't exactly high at the moment, although he's gathered 600 followers on Twitter in a couple of months, so there's definitely interest.)
At least if anyone new comes along they'll be able to register and join in, unlike on the Ford board.
So, anyway; Ford's just been in New York mixing tracks for a new album. I'm trying to guess what those tracks might be. Off the top of my head, since SFTR we've heard;
To hell with the World
Down by the sea
Hurricane
Call to arms
Nothing at all
I want more (HILTSWALMCC)
A Piece of land
Panic (Forgive my father / Dirt and matchwood)
Mrs Jackson (this may be a cover – excuse my dumbth)
Springtime will come
Meet me in the middle
Making up for lost time
This city's cold and I could use a friend
Song for the republican convention
Anyone want to pick nine from there that would make an album? Or do you think there's stuff out there we've yet to hear?

Oooh, good question! (and of course I'm here; I made the thing!)
So, My 9 would be:
To hell with the World
Hurricane
Call to arms
Nothing at all
I want more (HILTSWALMCC)
A Piece of land
Springtime will come
Making up for lost time
This city's cold and I could use a friend

To Hell With The World
Hurricane
Call To Arms
Panic
Springtime Will Come
Meet Me In The Middle
+ 3 new songs (including the love song to Margaret Thatcher that was referred to on Twitter…)
EDIT: A clip of Making Up For Lost Time's now on Myspace, so we can safely say that's going to be included on the album…

i am also still wondering what songs might constitute the difficult third album but here are some titles i am toying with…
panic
making up for lost time
waiting for the storm
stephen
surfin' guantanamo bay
call to arms
sylvia
she's not the one
meet me in the middle
to hell with the world
this could be the day.
5 of these have already been recorded by me and mixed by james brown and are sounding like everything i had hoped. excuse my uncharacteristic confidence but i think this may be a good one.
i like this new hangout by the way.

Hey Ford,
Great to have you on here! I was the stag weekend guy at Gloucester, if you can remember that gig…
Anyway, To Hell With The World is still my favourite out of the new songs. Looks like that album list is verging on perfect.
See you at The Bloombury…

Thankyou Mr Wibbler,
I'm here and still there too just incase everyone changes their minds.
My thought on Album listings are put them all on a double album

As far as I'm concerned 'Meet Me In The Middle' and 'Making Up For Lost Time' are about a quarter as good as 'Hurricane', so it's a bit of a shame to see that they're included while the latter's omitted. Hopefully that list isn't exhaustive…

Maybe he re-titled it. "surfin' guantanamo bay" could be the new title.

Maybe I'm way off, but….
It seems unlikely to me that any new album would feature any of the songs already released on the E.P.s
Firstly because by definition a NEW album should feature NEW material. And secondly because he's already charged fans to buy those tracks so why charge them again?
I did think it was a shame To Hell With The World was on the EP as it was such a great song and definitely one I'd have liked to have seen on the next album. But the great man writes so many and seemingly so effortlessly I'm sure it'll be great.
I have no predictions other than Hurricane will definitely be on it, that's a quite breathtakingly stunning piece of work.

You're right Neil, new should mean new.
But the Sketches CDs were very limited edition, weren't they? Only 1000 of each or so. So there's an awful lot of people who won't have had the chance to get hold of those tracks. I'm presuming the album would be more widely available.
By the way, Hurricane isn't on Ford's shortlist (see above). It's not looking good for your prediction…

What about a third EP for the show in September? Maybe Hurricane will be there… a girl can always dream…
A double album could be a good idea… or better, two different versions of the new album… one with one disk only with the new songs and another one with a second disk and all the EPs on it. Or something like that…
And I want to know about "stephen"…

'How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love my Credit Card' should be on the new album. It's a ford classic.
Have we given up hope of the old board being fixed? Ever since the first move the board has slowly been dieing.
